I'm not even a watch guy! A friend who is a big watch collector sent me the link to the site. I found the Barton Springs Collection and I was instantly hooked. Since this is watch #1 in my collection, the versatility of the piece was great - sporty with the NATO band or more formal with the silicon band. Great everyday watch and a nice nod to Austin and Barton Springs. Steve (the owner) at Dufrane was great to work with and even took the time to email me and make sure I was happy with the purchase. Five stars from me!
Barton Springs 656 Midnight
Inspired Men’s Dive Watch - Now in Black PVD
ONLY 50 AVAILABLE!
The Barton Springs 656 isn’t just another diver watch. This men’s diver watch is designed to be your everyday watch. The black hardened PVD stainless steel finish with finely polished chamfers and accents give the Barton Springs 656 a sturdy yet elegant feel. Featuring a Swiss automatic mechanical movement, it’s powered by the movement of your arm, and has a long lasting reserve time of 38 hours. A few vintage characteristics, like the drilled lugs and no crown guards, give this diver watch an extra element of distinction.
This dive watch isn’t just about the looks though. It’s practical for everyday life, but it’s also ready to take the plunge on your next SCUBA dive. A double-sealed screw-down crown keeps this watch watertight and resistant to water damage. As its name implies, the Barton Springs 656 diver watch can go to a depth of 656 feet and has a uni-directional rotating bezel for measuring the remaining air in your tank. Swiss C3 SuperLumiNova pigment on the watch hands and oversized markers make for easy readability, day or night, even under water.
Personalize your Barton Springs 656 by choosing between two sunburst dial options, charcoal and deep blue. The sunburst dial adds depth and character to the watch with stunning light reflections. In addition to the included tri-colored nylon NATO-styled strap, also included is an exclusive Barton Watch Bands silicone strap — available in Black, Navy Blue, or Black and Orange.
Not only is this a functional diving watch, it’s truly practical for everyday life. The domed sapphire crystal protects it from scratches and nicks. Anti-reflective coating eliminates glare from surrounding lights. The rotating bezel can be used daily as a cooking timer, or to track a game/movie. Multifaceted, this watch is made to endure all of the experiences life has to offer, and always keep you on time.

This watch. THIS WATCH! I had been following Dufrane watches for a little while on the web and when we decided to visit Austin, TX I got in touch with Steve, Dufrane’s owner. I almost always go for straight stainless, black face and black bezel on a dive watch but when Steve laid out this beauty it really did call to me. There’s just something about it. From the first impression to the little details, the 656 is a contender. Pictures do not do the face justice. The color moves from black to deep bronze and in sunlight really puts on a show. Super accurate, killer lume, chamfered case allows for short lugs and nice tight band placement, the silicone strap ‘doglegs’ off the pins conforming to my wrist nicely and it sits close to my wrist as well because it is fairly short. I love it. We had a chance to take it for a swim in Barton Springs before we left Austin which felt great. Next time, salt water.
